Hamal is available at the Temple of Dibella in Markarth. Be advised, the temple is a few levels up, past the Temple of Talos. Hamal is inside the inner Sanctum. I need to pick an expert level lock in order to get to her, and then I had to complete a quest before her services were offered. After fast traveling, to forward up the stairs, veer left past the Temple of Talos, immediately go left up more staircases, and you will find the Temple.

If you discover other methods to train enchanting, please feel free to comment below. I may have chosen to exclude certain tactics to train enchanting e. I may choose to update this article with more advice in the future. In the meantime, please consider following some of my other Skyrim tutorials!

I have a wonderous way to train four skills at once and still profit from it. It is a long term method and takes fullest form mid game. The first thing I do when I start the game is immediately start collecting Iron, Silver, or Gold ore. I later head into a bandit camp north of Whiterun where the Transmute spell tome is located. This spell is stupid expensive to cast, so non magic characters find lots of problems with this tactic. During my down time between offloading loot or traveling between quests, I Transmute my iron into gold.

I'm now training Alteration, which is great because i use lots of Magic Armor spells. Jewellery gives more xp than iron daggers, the more widely known way to train Smithing. Then, I enchant all my gold rings with Fortify Carry Weight. I Sell them as I can, they're pricey, but light enough that i can still adventure with a few dozen left. Lots of soul gems used, but i also use Bound Weapons with the Soul Binding Perk, sooooo filling soul gems is literally as easy as one well aimed arrow.

It takes a VERY specific character to effectively use this method, but it absolutely tramples all others I've seen, as it trains 4 skills actively, gifts you loads of spare septims, and leaves you at Enchanting at lvl 25 which skilled enchanters know that this practically makes you a god Although, buying so many empty soul gems eventually weighs a t o n. Simulation Games. Mobile Games. Elder Scrolls. Final Fantasy. Dragon Age. If a lesser gem is selected, the corresponding lesser bonus will be displayed.

Press the Craft key to create the enchanted item. Arcane Enchanters can be found in all major cities, typically in the Jarl's Palace or Longhouse, in the court wizard's quarters. They are also found in many locations that feature humanoid, magic-using enemies such as Necromancers , Vampires , and Mages. Most houses which the Dragonborn can buy, with the exception of Breezehome in Whiterun , can be equipped with an arcane enchanter.

There is even one in Sinderion's Field Laboratory in Blackreach. Court Wizards can sell the Dragonborn enchanted items, as well as soul gems, and likewise, the Dragonborn can sell enchanted items and soul gems to them.

There is no Court Wizard in Falkreath or Winterhold. The Dragonborn initially has no knowledge of enchantments. To learn an enchantment, a magic item with the enchantment that the Dragonborn wants to learn must be disenchanted at an arcane enchanter. The strength of the enchantment on the item does not affect the strength of the enchantment learned by disenchanting it.

Disenchanting destroys the item but grants permanent knowledge of the base enchantment, allowing its use when enchanting. Some items cannot be disenchanted to learn their effects, including Quest Items , Daedric Artifacts , Amulets of the Nine Divines , Thieves Guild Armor , and many, but not all, items with unique names. Staves also cannot be disenchanted. It should be noted that some enchantments such as Banish Daedra , Fortify Destruction , Paralyze , Fortify Sneak and Absorb Health produce remarkably more valuable enchantments which can be turned around and sold to buy soul gems and other raw materials to accelerate the leveling process.

However, the skill increase gained from the act of enchanting itself is strictly dependent on the size of the soul used and not on the enchanting effect chosen. Also note that obtaining either Azura's Star or The Black Star will save a lot of money on buying soul gems to enchant with and can be substituted for any use of a soul gem below.

The following are enchanting perks that become available to select as the skill is leveled up. In addition to perks increasing enchanting powers, leveling Enchanting increases them. The following perks from other trees affect weapon enchantments. Note that while there are weapon effects from the Alteration and Conjuration schools, there are no relevant perks that enhance effects from those schools.

There are 18 weapon enchantments available. The enchantments wear out after successive use, and to keep the enchantment in effect, it has to be "refilled" by using soul gems to add more uses. The larger the soul used, the more uses given via recharging.

There are 38 apparel enchantments available. The types of enchantments allowed on apparel are determined by what part of the body the apparel is covering. Unlike weapon enchantments, apparel enchantments do not require recharging and stay enchanted indefinitely. The strength of the enchantment is dependent on the size of soul used to enchant it and the enchanter's perks and skill, except for muffle and water breathing. The final set of gear will not improve the results of a Fortify Enchanting potion, but will improve the results for other potions.

Additional potions can be brewed to improve enchantments of all types. One common application is to enchant a set of Fortify Smithing gear and combine it with a maximum strength Fortify Smithing potion to improve weapons and armor. There is an alternative that is the exploit of the use of Fortify Restoration potions, which improves several status, including Fortify Enchanting. Updated August 15th, , by Charles Burgar: Becoming the strongest Dragonborn in Skyrim requires good gear and upgraded skills. And what better way to obtain powerful items than make them yourself? Skyrim's Enchanting skill is one of its most rewarding, allowing players to create items that dwarf over Daedric Artifacts in terms of power.

Create a wooden sword that lights enemies aflame, allow a mace to siphon the soul of your foes, or enhance your armor with stat-boosting effects. For players looking to get the most out of Skyrim's crafting system, we've updated this guide with additional information and better organization.

Get ready to create some of the strongest weapon and armor pieces in the game. Enchanting is one of Skyrim's crafting skills that allows you to imbue weapons, armor, and jewelry with magical properties such as elemental damage or waterwalking. For the purposes of the Guardian Standing Stones , Enchanting is part of the Mage archetype of skills.

Crafted gear in Skyrim is leagues above any unique items you can find throughout your adventures, partly due to the sheer strength of Enchanting. With Enchanting at rank and all of its perks active, you can make a weapon that deals an extra points of elemental damage or become nigh-immune to elemental damage with a few magic resistance enchantments on your gear. Every build in Skyrim can benefit from enchanting their gear , hence why many consider this skill one of the strongest in the game.

Make your way to an Arcane Enchanter—Skyrim's name for an Enchanting table. In the enchanting menu, you'll be able to select which item you wish to enchant, the enchantment you wish to apply, and which type of Soul Gem you'll use to enchant the item. Once you enchant an item, you'll lose your selected Soul Gem. That item will also be unable to be enchanted again, so think carefully about what you apply to that item.

To speed up the leveling process, enchant items with as large of a soul as you can. Grand souls grant the most experience while Petty souls grant the least; the enchantment you apply to your gear is irrelevant.

Disenchanting gear uses this same principle, granting additional experience based on the strength of the enchantment.
