What is making love like

According to philosopher Alan Goldman, having sex is a means to an end. This, according to Goldman, is a self-gratifying and self-regarded activity. This kind of love making can reflect tenderness, adoration, and is a way in which having sex and making love can be distinguished. Of course, kinky sex which is not tender can also be a form of making love, with a trusted other. Each person is unique yet lost in each other.

There is no right or wrong answer to this question. Love means something different to everyone, and thus the experience of making love may be utterly different from one couple to the next. But, in my personal opinion, it helps to be in love… but it is not always necessary. In fact, making love may just help build a stronger foundation and pave the way for being in love.

Making love is a way in which to channel deep sexual energy that bonds two people together. By doing this, an emotional connection is continuously being built, causing happiness for both individually and as a couple. Making love opens up the ability to experience a much higher and healthier self-esteem , and a better emotional, sexual, and personal identity. Talking about sex with a partner can be daunting for some, as it can be a vulnerable experience.

But according to Brene Brown , a research professor at the University of Houston and bestselling author, vulnerability is an excellent emotion to embrace. Communication is a powerful tool that can deepen intimacy and emotional connections , and is a way to build on what both partners like, resulting in more meaningful love making. In actuality, this kind of mentality can bring about sexual dysfunction for individuals and couples. Each minute that passes while two people are entangled in romantic embrace is a minute where trust and intimacy is being built.

Engage in intercourse positions that allow for maximum intimacy. Or it could be a comfortable spooning position that allows for full-body contact. Choose a position that not only makes you both feel comfortable, safe, and confident, but that also encourages intimacy using various body parts. Love making is powerful, mindful, and meaningful , so the location, ambience, and mood can make or break the experience.

Choose a romantic space with no interruptions. You could add massage oils or a bubble bath with champagne into the mix to get those passionate feelings going. Whatever you fancy, go with the flow and allow the experience to unfold naturally.

Kissing is often referred to as more intimate than sex because it is built on feelings. When you make love, you make love to someone. Making love is often much more about your partner and your connection to them than having sex is.

Having sex is about a physical connection to another person. It is possible to have sex with someone without having an emotional attachment to them, becaue having sex is about a biological need. Think about it. As a species, humans have to have sex in order to reproduce, so we are biologically hardwired to want to have sex. From a biology standpoint, there does not need to be anything aside from the physical desire for another person in order to have sex.

And while it is hard for a lot of people to detach their emotions from sex, it is entirely possible to do so. This is not to say that all sex is devoid of an emotional connection, it is possible to have meaningful sex with someone even if you are not making love. Another distinction between having sex and making love is your role as an individual. Having sex is often about fulfilling your indivifual needs like we said, biological hardwiring and much less about the pleasure of your partner or meeting their needs.

Making love is about an emotionally intimate connection to another person. You cannot make love to a stranger where as you can have sex with a stranger because you are not emotionally in-tune with that stranger. When you are completely in tune with another person because of your emotional connection to them, having sex can turn into making love because you are more attuned to their needs and your sexual experience is about coming together physically and emotionally.

Making love is more intimate than just having sex and may be a more drawn out process, with intimate foreplay, touching and eye contact.

Making love involves a kind of tenderness even if your love making is on the rough side! When you are making love to someone, you consider their needs in addition to your own, which is what makes the sex so much more meaningful and intimate.

It requires listening to a partner, knowing or asking if you need to what they like and making it happen for them. Everyone has a unique relationship to sex that dictates how comfortable they are having sex with strangers, people they are newly dating, waiting until marriage, etc.

These relationships with sex are dictacted by the type of connection people need to have with a person before having sex. To have sex with another person, all you need in a physical connection to them. In order to make love to another person, you need to have a physical and emotional connection. People always ask if you need to be in love with someone in order to make love to someone, and the answer is, not necessarily. Making love can mean taking delight in exploring your partner's body, mind, and heart.

You have chemistry, and things are hot. It means there is a spark. Everything sort of works. Even if you and your partner are basically strangers, the act of hooking up can actually make you feel emotionally close to each other. That's because sex and other intimate activities, like hugging or holding hands releases a hormone called oxytocin , which has been found to strengthen social bonds between people.

So, even if your intent is casual, your body might get a more significant message. During less intimate sex, you might choose to engage in some dirty talk.

When you're making love, this can change. It's not that dirty talk isn't possible when making love, but you may choose to incorporate more loving, emotional wording. Making love can give couples the ability to be very open and comfortable with each other.
