Why praying to mary is wrong

Yet she faithful fully obeyed when God called her. In Luke 11 , Jesus freed an afflicted man by driving out the demon that made him mute. Once Jesus cast the demon away, the man could speak again, and the watching crowd was amazed Luke Some of the crowd questioned Jesus, even suggesting Jesus was operating by power of Satan.

While praying to Mary is not found in the Bible, the practice is common in the Roman Catholic tradition. The sentiment in Luke is referenced in the Hail Mary, which is one of the most popular Catholic prayers. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death. She was engaged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of King David. The Lord is with you! The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David.

I am a virgin. So the baby to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God. People used to say she was barren, but she has conceived a son and is now in her sixth month. May everything you have said about me come true. When Jesus died, shed His blood, and was raised from the dead the need to have someone e. Guess who was present with them? What was she doing? Acts NLT says, They all met together and were constantly united in prayer, along with Mary the mother of Jesus, several other women, and the brothers of Jesus.

She was joined with them in prayer…to GOD. According to Psalm we are all born as sinners in need of a Savior, Mary included. Mary was highly favored, not sinless. There is not one scripture to support that Mary was without sin.

My purpose is to educate and communicate what Scripture teaches. After all, we have a responsibility as believers to weigh everything we believe and teach against the inerrant Word of God.

However, we use prayer in a different sense than that, to include requests to others—angels and saints, specifically—to pray for us. So any request for prayer that I make to a friend would be considered itself a prayer in our usage of the term. Second and more substantially, Protestant Christians tend to question the validity of praying to those who have died. There can be a variety of reasons for this, but most commonly it relates to the biblical prohibition against conjuring the spirits of the dead, as is attempted in a seance, for example.

Once again, as Catholics we completely accept this. As the Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches, such practices are wrong because they are attempts to gain knowledge that God has not given to us cf. Such thinking is a blatant distortion of New Testament faith. So do I pray to Mary? Let me offer you a bouquet of reasons. The Bible makes it crystal clear that prayer is to be directed to God and God alone. The Bible strictly prohibits the deification of any creature in the stead of God.

Who is that? The early church nowhere taught the doctrine of co-redemptrix. And only means only!
